Faraway Places is owned and operated by the Ryan family of Ocean View, Delaware. In the late 1990s, they realized their friends were interested in items the Ryans had brought with them from their time overseas.

They began to attend shows, offering low-priced jewelry, beads and clothing from friends and associates in Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and India. The Ryans opened their Rehoboth Beach shop in 2000, the website this year - and the rest is history!
